I just published Coaching Executive Teams, and I will summarize it in 90 seconds for you!
The subtitle is Lead Your Organization to Higher Performance through a Radical Redesign of Coaching. It covers my 30-year journey as an executive coach to some of the world’s most prestigious companies. It offers two core messages to help professional coaches and business team leaders.
The first is that coaching is stuck. Coaching has advanced from the traditional model of shouting instructions from the sidelines to a non-directive method and the right mental state. That’s great! Now, we need to build on this foundation and reintroduce the skills that drive mission achievement. We know that the world’s best athletes include assessment, instruction, and working on weaknesses as part of their coaching. Why should business coaching be any different?
Second, we deliver 20x more impact by coaching teams because the focus shifts from improving leadership style and personal effectiveness to delivering organizational outcomes. Better still, teams are more coachable, and behaviors shift more reliably in this context.
This book is about how we become better coaches, how we build on the facilitative and mental state model of coaching to achieve higher organizational performance
I’d love for you to check it out, let me know what you think, and join in this evolution of our craft.
